About the role:

Abcam is looking for a Junior Technical Architect who can support with gathering architectural detail, evaluating gaps and support in formulating and communicating solutions.

Initially this will be a 9 month contract.

Key Responsibilities:

Actively work with business process owners, business analysts, team leads and technical subject matter experts to gather and understand business requirements and technical capabilities.

Actively evaluate issues and gaps raised in the programme delivery pipeline and propose mitigating solutions.

Responsible for maintaining the key architectural artefacts (e.g. architectural decision log, architecture debt log, transition state diagrams).

Responsible for generating the materials required to present to the Design Authority and Design Board.

Work with the technical implementation teams to collaborate on the implementation plan and approach for IT.

About the team

We are on a journey of a multi-year investment in our core IT systems and we’re looking for a Technical Architect to support our team on this mission.

Our architectural landscape which supports our industry leading E-Commerce engine will consist of in-house agile developed, web-based systems (C#, MVC, SPA and Java) utilising middleware solutions (WebMethods) to incorporate Oracle Cloud ERP as well as other packaged systems (Cloud and On-Premise).

About You

You will have demonstrable experience of software development, software integrations or business analysis (ideally in a waterfall and agile environment).

You will need to be proficient in techniques used in producing designs of complex IT systems and of the full software development life cycles or ERP implementations.

Someone with an eCommerce or architecture experience would be ideal as would someone who has experience of various web architectures, platforms, and frameworks and project management and risk management concepts.

This role would suit a strong communicator who is articulate and autonomous. You will be able to link up technical and non-technical audiences and seek solutions to issues and highlight and issues or risks.
