As a Junior Software Engineer at MI5, you can directly support real time investigations - while working with some of the most advanced technology around. It’s an opportunity to develop your Java or C# expertise further and play your part in keeping the country safe from threats like espionage and terrorism.

Your role

Joining our Information Technology group, you’ll be involved in the most advanced and exciting area of our software development. Supporting the whole software delivery cycle, you’ll be developing complex applications to meet demanding architectural standards on a range of projects.

This will involve working closely with business analysts and end users to help our core investigative and operational teams work more efficiently and innovatively. In short, you’ll help run the technology that keeps investigations going.

About you

With an enthusiasm for finding and using new technologies to solve complex challenges, you’ll ideally have beginner or practitioner level knowledge in Java, C#, SQL, Hadoop or HTML5. You do not need extensive prior experience. You’ll be a good team player with good interpersonal skills and a knack for working under pressure.
