We’re now looking for a dynamo PR Account Executive to join the team. It’s a perfect role for someone itching to make their mark in a fast growth company. You’ll have an influential part in bringing our brand purpose to life and exploding awareness of First Utility nationally. We have a big challenge ahead of us in getting people to engage with something as seemingly dull as energy, but as an innovative innovative supplier and genuine challenger brand we have a brilliant story to tell and plenty to say. This is where you come in.

Role & Skills:

You’ll be a media relations expert, a coverage generation aficionado, a vivid storyteller, a press office perfectionist, ready to jump straight in.

You’ll be B2C, B2B and Corporate PR proficient with a keen understanding of how PR knits effectively into Public Affairs, Social and Content strategies. You’ll comfortably lead our press office and work with our specialist PR agencies (B2C, Corporate, Financial and Sport) and in-house team. You’ll help deliver a consumer focused PR strategy that incorporates; traditional media engagement, digital & social media and experiential & sponsorship activation in order to build brand awareness, manage brand perception and support acquisition.

Key Skills/Experience Needed:

Excellent written skills - capable of honing, crafting and championing stand out PR materials and compelling content in First Utility’s unique challenger tone of voice

A firm understanding of the UK B2C media landscape - with strong consumer, national, digital and broadcast media relationships and proven ability to identify opportunities and deliver mainstream and specialist press coverage

Press office leadership experience - establishing and leading an efficient and effective process, managing the quality and workflow

Cross-integrated campaign know-how - experience of delivering integrated traditional PR, digital and social media execution campaigns with measurable results

Event planning capabilities - devising press tours/events as well as organising and coordinating media interviews for spokespeople

Evaluation and reporting skills - creating monthly reports, coverage analysis and competitor insights to demonstrate Corporate Comms ROI with stakeholders

Comfortable working to tight deadlines - across multiple work streams in a fast paced and dynamic environment

The ability to engage and build strong relationships - with senior figures within the organisation and within the comms steam and agencies

Capable of understanding and communicate complex principles - in a simple to understand manner tailored to specific audiences

Areas of specific responsibility:

Identify and exploit media opportunities on a reactive and proactive basis

Engage with third party agencies

Engage with other areas of the business to identify and collaborate on opportunities to build positive media stories

Develop and run an internal press office to handle inbound queries and create and run a case study program that builds and promotes brand advocacy across multiple channels

Write press releases, opinion articles, Q&As and blog content

Support Senior PR manager to create cross-channel communications campaigns that work across variety of media

Support Senior PR manager in creating engaging and compelling content using a mix of words, infographics, images, video etc.

Ensure all content is in line with brand’s tone of voice and internal style guide and minimises reputational risk

Report on media coverage, message penetration and sentiment against set KPI's

Reporting into the Senior PR Manager who in turn reports into the Director of Corporate Communications, you will have at least three years’ experience in a consumer PR role either in-house or agency side. A multi-tasker with a cool head under pressure and ruthless in maintaining a high standard of execution.
