What does the role entail?

The role will be responsible for developing the vision and roadmap for the Infrastructure and Operations department, and for operating, supporting and further developing the company's IT infrastructure - enterprise computing, networking, end-user computing, telephony (fixed and mobile) and information security.

Key duties and requirements will include:

Manage the operation of services on all hardware, software and networking platforms to achieve required service levels

Provide a service desk operation to capture and triage incidents and capture change requests, monitoring to completion and communicating to users generally and individually as appropriate

Provide operational, second and third line, and project technical support using internal and external resources

Manage the procurement, build and deployment of enterprise and end user technology such as servers, storage, networks, workstations/ printers, fixed and mobile telephony and conferencing facilities, user software products, point of sale systems, in-store technology, head office facilities

Develop and implement the IT infrastructure roadmap and plans to satisfy the needs of the business over the current and next 3 years

Responsible for security policies, controls and monitoring, to include Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), IT general controls, PCI, business continuity to achieve company compliance

Provide advice and guidance on technical strategies, supplier product roadmaps, release strategies

Identify the need for and drive the implementation of improved IT processes, standards, tools and supporting training

Provide the senior escalation role for resolving IT operational issues on a 24x7 basis as required

Be an integral part of the senior leadership team within the business, offering input on topics beyond the role and displaying a challenging mindset

Represent the department in projects involving cross functional teams.

Management of the IT revenue budget (hardware and software maintenance, networks, third party IT services) and company fixed and mobile telephony budget

Supplier negotiation and contract development in respect of hardware, software and services

Who are we looking for?

We require an experienced Service Desk Analyst who can work independently whilst contributing to the overall goals of the department. The successful candidate will be proactive and able to liaise closely with business users, the IT Team as well as third party suppliers.

An excellent range of analysis skills

In depth ITIL knowledge and experience of process and procedure development

Strong customer service ethos

Highly developed people management skills

Extensive experience of infrastructure operations on multiple IT platforms, e.g., Cloud, iSeries, Microsoft server, SQL, eCommerce, telephony, AX, virtualisation, SAN, replication, networking, telephony, POS, security, WMS, ERP

High level of professional integrity, honesty and track record of building trust

Financial management skill in budgeting, forecasting and cost control
