An international developer of advanced 3D scanning systems and associated solutions, Fuel3D has operations in the UK (Oxfordshire) and the USA (California and North Carolina).

By joining Fuel3D as Computer Vision Technical Lead, you will be responsible for the specification, concept design and technical aspects of implementation for our 3D scanning systems. Working closely with the Chief Technical Officer as well as the research and engineering teams, you will identify and manage potential technical solutions to complex customer requirements.

This is a wide-ranging and interesting position where key responsibilities will involve:

- Analysing new business opportunities and identifying technical challenges

- Negotiating specification and management of new project implementations

- Preparing and presenting effective technical proposals relating to new projects

- Assessing technical design choice and ‘buy versus build’ for trade-off between hardware and software implementation

- Contributing to the company’s IP strategy by identifying/assessing potential sources of new IP

- Acting as a technical reviewer with regard to monitoring of project progress

- Using superior system level knowledge and acting as a technical troubleshooter

- Continually evaluating market intelligence and harnessing extensive knowledge of Fuel3D’s new and existing technical development

- Maintaining a position of expertise with clients in order to consistently deliver on innovation and competitive edge

- Regular international travel, mainly to North America

Working in collaboration with the senior management and project leadership teams, you will have the opportunity to develop future project plans for product development, in line with the company’s business goals.

Ideally possessing a BSc in Computer Science or equivalent, sound experience of Computer Vision software is required along with some engineering consultancy experience. Knowledge of the 3D market will be desirable, coupled with some commercial experience delivering C++ projects.

Building fruitful relationships with internal and external stakeholders is key, and you should have the ability to interact, and present to, a diverse range of audiences and cultures.
