Surrey Police is seeking to recruit a highly enthusiastic person for the permanent role of Intelligence Technical & Training Officer within the Intelligence Department based at Headquarters, Guildford.

You will be expected to develop technology and its use in intelligence, including designing, enhancing, developing and administering computer applications used by intelligence staff.

You will design, develop and evaluate bespoke training packages for intelligence staff and deliver these to nationally agreed standards and actively contribute to the advancement of on-going professional development of all intelligence staff

The ideal candidate will be a team player with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

You will have a flexible and positive approach and be able to work under pressure. Strong written and oral communication skills are needed and the post holder will be expected to work on a number of tasks at once therefore an ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines under pressure is essential.

- Of graduate calibre, in a relevant disciple or equivalent qualification.

- An appropriate training qualification (e.g. Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) or experience of training in a workplace environment and the ability to attain a formal training qualification.

- Excellent ‘end-user’ technical skills, having proven and well-evidenced experience in the use of intelligence software is desirable.

- Highly motivated with the ability to plan ahead, to manage and prioritise a dynamic workload unsupervised and respond flexibly to rapidly changing demands.

- Must be capable of, and demonstrate, absolute discretion in handling matters of a personal, sensitive, and confidential nature.

- The ability to quickly acquire and apply knowledge. To be able to learn and apply appropriate legislation and administrative policies, procedures and systems in order to ensure that intelligence and data is managed correctly.
