The University of Bristol is seeking to appoint a Programme Manager for an ambitious change programme in the heart of our city campus. This will include:

- The development of a new University Library;

- A Student Resources Centre incorporating student information, advice and guidance, social and learning spaces, and a home for the Bristol Institute for Learning and Teaching; and

- Re-designed public realm to create a sense of destination and welcome for students, staff and members of the public.

The programme will deliver a key element of the University’s Strategy 2016-23.

This will be a challenging, varied and potentially career-making role for the right individual. You will have the abilities and ambition to deliver a change programme that will have a transformational impact on the University of Bristol for many years to come.

You will be able to demonstrate a strong track record in successful delivery of multimillion pound business transformation programmes. High levels of drive, resilience, political acumen, and relationship management will be required as well as an excellent understanding of the rigours of successful programme management.

You will lead this strategic programme from inception through to completion, working closely with the joint sponsors, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and the Deputy Registrar (Academic Services). You will develop the business case, ensure appropriate programme governance, oversee business change needs, and identify and support the realisation of the benefits of the programme.

You will be committed to working with students, staff and external stakeholders to achieve a successful outcome. You will work closely with Estates Office, and Capital Projects Office in particular, to clarify the mandates and briefs for the individual building and infrastructure projects. You will also work with a range of student-facing service heads and the Students’ Union on service delivery; and with senior academic colleagues on the educational aspects of the programme.

You will contribute to developing and embedding approaches to successful programme management for the University in conjunction with the Director for Strategic Programmes and other programme and project managers already working in the University. Being able to illustrate how you have applied the MSP (Managing Successful Programmes) model is therefore strongly desirable.

The post is available on a fixed-term, full time basis starting as soon as possible, for 3 years. We are looking for the successful candidate to commence work as soon as possible, and certainly no more than 3 months from offer.

The University of Bristol is committed to equality and we value the diversity of our staff and students.

To apply please click the APPLY button to visit our website, enter the vacancy number into the job search and follow the link to the online application process.

Closing date: Friday 26 August 2016.
