Summary:

This is a unique opportunity to lead Saga through a major change process, overhauling its outdated digital analytics capability as you develop our team to deliver a leading-edge service. It’s a newly created role that offers challenge and reward in equal measure - and it’s your chance to make a significant impact on the future of one the UK's most iconic and trusted brands.

Our goal as a business is to make the lives of retired people better, which is why we’re aiming to become a world-class authority on digital interaction for the retired generation. Now we need you to make that happen by standardising digital analytics across the end-to-end customer journey, constantly analysing our performance and looking for opportunities to improve the way we do things.

Initially, your focus will be on driving the implementation, rollout and training of Adobe Analytics linking with Adobe Campaign and Adobe Target, as well as reporting tools including Sessioncam, call centre outcomes and website feedback.

You’ll also work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation, bringing your expertise to key projects. So strong communication and team working skills are important, plus the ability to quickly build credibility at all levels. In terms of your background, we’ll be looking for proven experience of utilising the Adobe suite in a large and complex organisation, leading a dedicated team, co-ordinating the training of cross-functional teams, presenting strategy at board level and setting up dashboards.

On top of that, you should be qualified to at least bachelor degree level - and ideally MBA. A positive attitude and infectious enthusiasm is essential too, not to mention the ability to see the world through our customers’ eyes and champion what’s best for them.

Capability, Knowledge and Experience:

Strong previous experience in rolling & using out the Adobe suite (Adobe Analytics & Target a must with experience linking to Adobe Campaign preferable) across a large organisation (usage of the tool alone is insufficient)

Strong previous experience leading the training and upskilling of cross functional teams in the use of Adobe Analytics

Strong previous experience building and leading a group of analysts serving cross functional teams (ideally in a central/Group role)

Strong previous experience presenting digital analytics strategy, tool roadmaps at board level

Strong personal analytical skills - not just reporting (successful candidate needs to be able to quickly interpret & analyse large data sets, find the key insight which can bring about business improvement and then communicate this effectively to drive change across the organisation)

Strong previous experience setting up company/Group wide digital analytics dashboards at board level down to detailed daily trading

Strong previous experience working across complex businesses and managing different stakeholders

Must be able to demonstrate understanding of insurance, travel, finance & care related products

Must be fluent in English and have superior communication skills (including creating presentations at board level)

Education and Qualifications:

Minimum bachelor degree qualification in computer science/digital/mathematics field

Has demonstrated leadership in analytics either through being a keynote speaker at a major forum or has published a text on analytics

Highly preferred MBA or similar leadership qualification

Responsibilities:

Lead the implementation, rollout & training of Adobe analytics & target (linking with the existing programme to rollout Adobe campaign including multi-attribution measurement across campaigns)

Lead linking the Adobe Marketing Cloud analytics & reporting to other reporting tools including sessioncam, call centre outcomes, website feedback etc

Standardise digital analytics across the end to end customer journey

Setup Group digital dashboards

Assist divisions to setup product centric dashboards

Analyse our Group performance (including results for any Group digital projects) and look for opportunities to improve our performance

Lead the mentoring & training of our current analytics teams

Share best practice across the Group

Link heavily into the optimisation and design teams to ensure we are using the full range of data & analysis to steer our MVT & personalisation agenda

The Individual:

Fantastic stakeholder management skills - we have a large suite of products, lots of stakeholders but we need to join this together (and our style is to collaborate, not tell)

Very strong work ethic - there’s an awful lot to do and some short timeframes. This is a senior leadership position, there are times where working extra hours are needed to hit deadlines

Gravitas - you need to be able to walk into a room of people who have been in the business a long time and speak with authority on the digital performance

Needs to be willing to embrace digital experience for customers who are 50+ (the challenge is different and I need this person to champion what’s best for our customers)

Positive attitude & energy - our Group team needs to inject a shot of adrenalin to every project and break down barriers so we need to bring our A-game to every meeting

Ability to lead and deal with ambiguity - a lot of the detail will rest with this person, so need someone who can hit the ground running and crack on

Additional Information:

There will be project work to complete, which should be done in a professional manner.

The duties listed are not exhaustive. Additional hours of work may be required, as determined by the needs of the business. Managers and staff may be required to undertake additional duties, responsibilities and projects as appropriate.

With this role comes a competitive salary of up to £90,000 p.a
