Key features of the role

Accenture helps design, deliver and operate cutting edge web and eCommerce solutions for high profile clients across a wide variety of industry sectors such as media, retail, communications, financial services, utilities and government. Demand for these services is growing rapidly and we are currently looking for Development Leads with at least 8 - 10 year development experience to build and drive our development teams forward. This is a client facing role so strong stakeholder management is required.

What we're looking for

We're looking for people who are passionate about the web and the benefits it can bring to our clients. Successful applicants will have experience in server side and/or client side web development and will be expected to design and write robust, scalable, high-performance code for dynamic web and eCommerce applications used in business critical services. The role will involve spending a large proportion of time at client sites so flexibility with location is essential.

Example of responsibilities (exact responsibilities dependant on role and level)

- Leading and mentoring your team to design and implement enterprise level dynamic web applications such as media portals, content management systems, e-commerce sites and banking portals.

- Translation of User Stories into source code on various technical platforms and within waterfall or agile delivery environments.

- Create and maintain technical documentation

- Create, document, and implement unit test plans and scripts

- interpret written requirements and technical specification documents

- Integration of established 3rd party services such as video content management solutions, Cloud infrastructure service web analytics or commercial transaction service providers

Basic Qualifications

Typical skills of successful applicants:

Essentials:

Excellent understanding of server side web technologies including:

- One or more web aligned languages such as Java / J2EE or PHP

- Programming experince such as JSPs, Freemarker & Velocity, XML or SQL

- MVC frameworks such as Spring, Play, Zend or Cake - Hibernate and Struts

- eCommerce products such as Hybris, Oracle ATG or IBM WebSphere

- Object/Relational mapping technologies such as Hibernate, Active Record etc.

- Experience working with Enterprise and / or open source CMS systems such as Drupal, WordPress or Adobe CQ6

- Experience working with Enterprise eCommerce products such as Hybris, Oracle ATG and/or Websphere Commerce

- Web services technologies, techniques and transport mechanisms including REST, SOAP, WSDL, XML and JSON

- Databases & SQL skills using MySQL, Oracle or an equivalent RDBMS

- Software development methodologies, e.g. waterfall, agile

- Excellent client-facing communication and presentation skills

- Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting

- Minimum 2:1 degree or equivalent

Other Desirable Skills:

- Working knowledge of HTML, XHTML,CSS, JavaScript

- Experience with source/version control software such as SVN & Git

- Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS

- Experience with (or awareness of) UX / UI design and information architecture

- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
