Telecoms Field Engineer

Job title: Customer Service Engineer

Experience: Wi-Fi / DECT / PABX's / Networking / Radio Frequency Communications

Location: East Midlands (Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, South Yorkshire)

Benefits: Salary circa £23k + on call allowance of £200 per week (one week in three) + fully funded company car

Our client is a UK communications development and manufacturing company serving the critical communications market around the world. The company is a market leader, well established and growing. There is now a requirement for a home based Field Engineer to join their engineering team.

This role would suit a telecoms engineer who has field engineering experience, is customer facing, is well presented, has excellent communication skills and is able to work independently. It is essential you are based in the Nottingham, Derbyshire or South Yorkshire area and are willing to travel extensively to customer sites depending on business needs. The more experience you have in any of the following technologies the better; Radio Frequency Communications, DECT or VoWLAN, Networking (LANs and Wi-Fi), PABXs, Line Transmission and General Electronics. Ideally you will also be qualified to a minimum in a HND in Electronics.

Function: To provide technical support and repair the current company's range of Products in the areas as required. To cover adjacent areas during holidays of other field staff. To assist in the sales process and provide technical support and advice to sales colleagues. To work a rota system of "on call" for emergencies of 1 week on in three and in turn over Bank and Public holidays. To work in conjunction with the Help Desk in improving the company's customer service.
