The role

This is an exciting opportunity to play a significant role in supporting a cutting-edge strategic programmes and initiatives within MI5. Helping to run our critical applications in our 24/7 Operations Control Centre, you’ll work as part of a team to monitor our whole hardware and applications estate.

You’ll be responsible for diagnosing and solving a range of IT issues, creating contingency plans and supporting the integration of new services. We’ll also expect you to liaise with third party suppliers and manage back up media. It’s a role with national impact, giving you the chance to safeguard our nation.

About you

With an A-level or equivalent in an IT-related subject, you’ll have successfully worked with customers in an IT environment. We’ll also expect you to have knowledge of network support administration, alongside experience of at least one monitoring package. As a strong communicator, you’ll work well within the team. You’ll be keen to take advantage of training opportunities, and learn systems such as HP Systems Insight Manager, HP Operations Manager and Windows OS.
