Deliver the technology that will fight crime and catch criminals
Could you help deliver new exciting technology to the Met that will help us police and protect London? As a Programme Delivery Manager, you’ll be doing just that, bringing efficient, modern ICT systems to some 50,000 officers and staff. It’s a chance to work on a wide range of projects and programmes that can help us fight crime and catch criminals - all while earning excellent rewards and benefits.
As part of our Solution Delivery Team, you’ll join an ‘intelligent client function’ that’s responsible for ICT change services within the Met. Your challenge is to plan and co-ordinate complex ICT projects and programmes, delivering to deadlines, budgets and scope. To succeed, you’ll need to directly manage Solution Providers, with the help of the SDIM (Solution Delivery & Integration Management) supplier. Together, you’ll deliver initiatives worth up to £10m.
These can range from high profile deployments of body worn video and mobile devices to front line officers, new digital ways for the public to contact the Met, new IT to support forensic investigations and a new core policing platform which will transform investigation and prosecution.
That means applying the full range of project management disciplines: definition of requirements, change management, financial control, status reporting, risk management and stakeholder management.
An experienced Programme or Project Manager, you’ll have worked in a similar role, ideally in the public sector. You’ve delivered fully outsourced, multi-supplier projects and built up significant supplier management knowledge. You’re also degree-qualified (or equivalent), with a good grasp of different project management methodologies (Agile, Prince 2, Waterfall). With great all-round communication skills, you can influence, negotiate and solve issues. Used to working with senior staff, you’ll be a proactive professional who’s focused on results.
If you’ve got the drive and commitment to make a difference to how the Met works, we can offer great rewards including 28 days’ holiday, free gym membership and a Defined Benefit Alpha pension.

We view diversity as fundamental to our success. To tackle today’s complex policing challenges, we need a workforce made up from all of London’s communities. Applications from across the community are therefore essential.
