See that digital devices help bring criminals to justice

We’re improving the way we deliver forensic services, so investigations can happen faster. As part of this, we’re expanding our team and recruiting a Digital Forensic Technician. It’s your chance to take on an important role, where you’ll help to bring criminals to justice through your first-class technical skills.

Working in our central laboratory or on attachment to teams, you’ll help us examine digital devices. You’ll extract and view data for investigations, presenting it clearly to officers. Please note that you’ll be expected to be on call and work outside normal hours if necessary. The better our systems, the better our chances of securing convictions. With this in mind, you’ll contribute to improvement initiatives.

In this diverse working environment, you never know what the next challenge will be. It’s a varied role where you’ll get to build your skills by moving between forensic departments. To be considered, you must be a Forensic Technician. Alternatively, you may have worked in a Digital Forensics crime unit. Either way, you’ll have a relevant degree (or equivalent) and broad knowledge of modern digital technologies. With the communication skills to work as part of a team and explain technical data simply, you’ll be an asset to a highly motivated department.

To apply, please click the APPLY button to visit our website to download a role specific information pack and application form.

Completed applications must be returned by 30th September 2016.

Please note we are only able to review the first 100 applications received.

We view diversity as fundamental to our success. To tackle today’s complex policing challenges, we need a workforce made up from all of London’s communities. Applications from across the community are therefore essential.
