The Legal Aid Agency (LAA) provides civil and criminal legal aid and advice in England and Wales. Current total legal aid spend is around £1.6 billion and each year we help more than 2 million people to deal with their legal problems. We have a team of around 1,450 staff and offices in towns and cities across England and Wales.
This is an exciting time to join the Legal Aid Agency (LAA). Like other public sector organisations, the LAA are transforming its services to provide even better value for money for tax payers. Digital transformation is at the heart of our positive vision for the LAA, improving the digital service we already provide our staff and over 5,000 providers.
We are looking for someone who has both the technical and leadership experience to drive forwards our digital ambition whilst maintaining and improving our current portfolio of projects and applications. As the Head of Digital Services, you will be responsible for developing a medium term strategy and for moving legacy systems to a new platform, leading the design and implementation of digital by default public services for the LAA and maintaining and enhancing existing applications.
We are looking for an engaging digital leader who can inspire others and drive forwards our ambitious digital agenda. In addition to your excellent leadership, you will have the technical experience of transforming digital services for complex organisations. You will be adept at building and maintaining relationships with complex stakeholder groups, with the ability to influence and deliver results.
