DIO is part of the Ministry of Defence (MOD). The Data, Analytics & Insight (DA&I) team are currently looking to take on a Senior Project Delivery Manager. As the project delivery lead on behalf of DA&I, the Senior Project Delivery Manager provides day-to-day management of Directorates projects and prepares communications to inform senior stakeholders both internal and external to the Directorate. The role is a functional expert in this field within DA&I, underpinning the conduct of effective delivery across the organisation to ensure DIO is able to meet the demands of its customers.

The post holder needs to be able to comprehend business strategy but is then able to translate this into how delivery can be implemented effectively to achieve business outputs, both in terms of the projects themselves but also their impact. This requires some measure of strategic insight but more importantly the ability to link requirements to delivery, and interpret what is required in terms of project management.

The post requires a strong grasp of project management techniques and approaches to inform and guide DIO in developing the appropriate methods to ensure delivery across the organisation. The role interacts with both senior business leads and the other key functions (e.g. Data, Planning and Business Intelligence teams) to develop and assure the way in which projects are delivered, and provides a focal point to advise and coach others across the organisation in how to plan, manage and deliver projects alongside business as usual and to promote ongoing good practice locally.

The Project Delivery Senior Manager has the responsibility for ensuring the DA&I delivery teams work collaboratively and will operate alongside them to support delivery against the DA&I business plan. The Project Delivery Manager will support the Head of Project Delivery & Insight hold the business area leads to account for the successful completion of DA&I projects that provide the stated benefits to its key stakeholders and will support the transformation of behaviours across DA&I by ensuring strong management discipline is implemented and upheld.
