Network Strategy and Capacity Planning develop medium and long term company strategies and plans to meet the needs of the business. We're responsible for making sure that people in Network Rail understand the regulatory framework, that Network Rail meets our regulatory obligations and develops robust, sustainable deliverables and consistent business plans that reflect our corporate goals.

The role, within the Programme controls team in Capacity Planning, is to lead and manage the governance and reporting processes for a £100m function that delivers Network Rail’s core product along with a top 7 business change programme.

Accountabilities

- To lead analysis across the business to inform business improvement opportunities and corrective initiatives

- Manage governance framework across the function and implement best practice processes

- Lead a programme of analysis to highlight areas of financial, process and performance improvements in support of the business’ objectives for the Control Period and to support the development of long term strategic plans

- Monitor and track key performance indicators

- Support the improvement of reporting across the function

Essential

- Demonstrable business analysis experience

- Strong analytical thinker

- Ability to produce clear and concise written documentation

- Strong inter-personal skills; ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Able to work well in a team

Desirable

- Knowledge of the railway industry

- Business process or data modelling experience

- Experience in a technology environment
