Aston University are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused IT professional to contribute to the success of the IT Services department. You will take a lead role in the development of creative, robust, scalable and reusable client/server solutions that deliver business benefits to the University, whilst ensuring the day-to-day operation of the University’s Server (physical and virtual), messaging and storage infrastructure.

Educated to degree level in a relevant subject, you will have substantial experience in a similar role, with Microsoft Solutions Expert and VMware qualifications or equivalent experience. Knowledge of other server based operating systems (such as Linux, UNIX), Microsoft Exchange Server (including Office 365), and SAN/NAS storage technologies, is essential.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required, along with the ability to manage the work of others. You will also have a proven track record of excellent customer service, project management and successfully working with a range of stakeholders to achieve objectives.
