An Opportunity has arisen for a Programmer / Analyst within the Information Resources team based at Plymouth.

In this role you will assist in implementing 3rd party products and developing and maintaining a combination of computer systems. These will have a particular focus on Oracle database solutions on Windows and Unix based platforms. You will have a grounding in database development using PLSQL (or similar database development languages). In addition, a good understanding of the standard Oracle developer tools such as Application Express would be an advantage. Experience with other languages such as Perl and Java would be useful, as would knowledge of systems integration using Web Services, XML and Fuse.

Additional training will be offered where required to the successful candidate.

Some of your key areas of focus will include

- Testing and implementation of 3rd party products

- Development of internal systems utilising the full software life cycle.

- Support of systems across the Corporate Application’s portfolio

You must possess 2 ‘A’ levels (or equivalent) or be able to demonstrate that you have the necessary Programmer / Analyst aptitude, skills and experience to make a success of this opportunity. You will also be highly self-motivated and be able to assist in managing projects through to a successful completion.

When suitably qualified, you will be expected to participate in an out of hours standby working arrangement within the team and therefore a full driving licence is required.
