Our Kent & Essex IT Services department provides IT support and development functions to both Kent Police and Essex Police. We serve a wide and varied customer base, including internal officers and staff, Kent and Essex Police & Crime Commissioners as well as external partners and organisations - not forgetting our ultimate customer, the people who live and work in Essex.

Both Kent and Essex Police have a strong investment in technology with over £15m capital investment. We have a large mobile policing programme looking to introduce smart technology. The radio scheme is changing to the next generation in multi-media radio communications. Body Worn Video is out with front-line officers visually capturing activity on the ground. We provide Video Conferencing to provide virtual court solutions and for internal travel and meeting requirements. We support - and develop - a wide variety of applications to support intelligence-led policing: which you will play an important part in supporting if you join our team.

IT Services has a large modernisation programme, we’re looking to upgrade our legacy infrastructure, promote rationalisation and further sharing of systems, collaborate with other bluelight services, extend our virtual server platform, expand and change our data storage solutions. We provide a network to over 130 police stations, sites and contact points across both Kent and Essex.
