Defence Equipment and Support is recognising the skills and capabilities needed to operate and run the business effectively, efficiently and with greater agility. Cost Assurance and Analysis Services (CAAS) is a support group in the Director Finance area within Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S). It provides a range of specialist accountancy, engineering and analytical services to DE&S, Head Office and customers in the wider MoD to include cost assurance, independent cost estimating, contract management and portfolio analytics. These services play an increasingly important role in the understanding and effective management of the MoD budget.

Your role

As part of the forecasting team, you will be responsible for providing cost modelling and model review services to meet customer needs by providing support to Managers with the scoping of requirements and developing approaches with customers to prioritise and deploy resources. You will undertake cost and schedule risk analysis, sensitivity analysis and three point estimating and interpret data and develop analytical insights. You will be expected to manage the modelling process from inception to final hand-over and integration stage.

Your background

Successful candidates are required as a minimum to be qualified ONC or equivalent in a relevant Mathematics, Engineering, Economics or IT discipline. You will also have relevant cost modelling and/or verification and validation experience gained in the public or private sector. Fluent Microsoft modelling and VBA skills and/or database skills including SQL/Oracle, would be desirable.
