The University of Lincoln ICT Department is seeking an experienced and motivated Network Engineer to join its Technical Services team.

The University of Lincoln operates an end to end Cisco network designed by principles taken from the Cisco Enterprise Campus model and a Cisco Unified Call Manager cluster. Your responsibilities will include the day to day operation of the campus network, Call Manager and associated services. You will also be expected to be a major contributor to the future development of wider IT services not limited to networking.

The following are essential and desirable skills & knowledge you should possess in order to be able to fulfil this role.

Essential

- Routing & Switching - Cisco IOS and NXOS

- Enterprise Wireless - Cisco Wireless Controllers and Access Points

- Security Appliances - CISCO ASA, IPS / IDS appliances

Desirable

- Load Balancing Appliances - F5, KEMP

- Cisco Unified Call Manager

- Voice Gateways - CUBE, H323, SIP and analogue converters

- Monitoring Systems - Cisco Prime, Solar Winds Orion

- Authentications Systems - Cisco ACS and ISE

The successful candidates will also be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills engaging with stakeholders at all levels of the business. Another key part of the role is producing documentation; you will be expected to produce clear and concise technical, processes and project documentation. You will also be expected to manage relationships between The University and other third parties such as suppliers and other Universities.

ICT operates a matrix structure. To fulfil the requirements of the role you will be expected to operate within the matrix which will include being a member of, and leading virtual teams to achieve service and project delivery.
