As a FTSE100 company with over £61.7bn of assets under management cyber security is of paramount importance. Using a number of market leading tools, the role of the Cyber Security Analyst at Hargreaves Lansdown is to proactively and continually identify, analyse, and respond to global security events and threats to our business.

We are now evolving our Security Operations Centre (SOC) to provide cover 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, throughout the year. As part of a team of analysts, on an average day you will be using a variety of tools such as our SIEM platform to gather and analyse security event data, looking for attack indicators and potential security breaches, and where necessary engaging with specialist third parties to aid your investigations. You will then use this information to help determine our response, be that using the firewalls to block the traffic from a malicious source, writing a custom IPS signature, or simply monitoring for further activity.

Further aspects of this role will be carrying out and managing security scanning across the network to identify, prioritise and mitigate security issues and vulnerabilities across the whole of our IT estate. You will also complement our IT Operations team in identifying and troubleshooting issues as and when required.

This role is suitable for individuals with an analytical mind and a strong desire to further develop skills in cyber security whilst protecting one of the UKs leading financial organisations. To be successful you should be able to demonstrate your ability to work independently and as a team to understand complex cyber security problems.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Proactively identify and respond to security events within the IT estate.

- Security incident management process.

- Maintain an awareness of current and emerging threats to the organisation and be able to suggest ways that they can be addressed.

- Producing monthly security management information.

Essential Skills and Attributes:

- Grade C or above in Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent)

- A level (or equivalent)

- Broad knowledge of and understanding of IT

- Knowledge of IT security principles

- Full stack knowledge from network to server

- At least 3 years working in an IT based role preferably in a security related area

- Good numerical skills

- Organised
