DIO is part of the Ministry of Defence (MOD). We play a vital role in supporting Defence by leading and managing the delivery of what the Armed Forces need to live, work, train and deploy on operations. DIO’s Data, Analytics and Insight (DA&I) department are currently looking for a Senior Data Architect to join their team. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with extensive Data management skills who are able to drive forwards a new way of delivering data ownership in DIO.

DA&I are looking for an individual who has a good understanding of data structures and documentation as well as presentation techniques to the business, including building and maintaining an Enterprise wide Data Dictionary. You will also have good communication skills, able to bridge the technical detail and discuss this with end users in a way that is approachable and used to communicating at senior management level.

The DIO Senior Data Architect is responsible for managing and continually improving all aspects of DIO data architecture; including the definition and management of Data Models and taking responsible for Master Data Management.

DIO is currently taking the lead for Defence Location Master Data and actively contributing to Defence’s Master Data agenda. This post will continue to engage with this work and also embed the concepts of Master Data Management within DIO. This will be achieved through the management and delivery of the DIO Logical Data Model, Physical Data Model and Data Catalogue.
