Role description and what we’re looking for

Reporting into the Pricing and Commercial Analytics Team Leader this is a new role created following a restructure of the Commercial team as we look to strengthen our position in the market place.

The role looks at new potential business cases for products and services for our customers and works alongside other teams to develop these into actual products and services that we can offer to our domestic customer base and out to the market - these products and associated bundles need to create perceived value and deepen relationships with our customers and grow the financial value of our portfolio.

Another prominent aspect of the role will entail the use of SAS to develop modelling assumptions and perform regression analysis and customer insight work for the wider team.

The ideal candidate will have a numerate degree (or equivalent), have previous experience of using and adapting models using MS Excel and SAS, and extracting insight to predict future outcomes. They need to demonstrate commercial acumen and have the energy to drive change in a structured manner.

An understanding of product lifecycles and measures of product performance is preferred. Ideally this person will have a background in a B2C, retail or other service led business.

Responsibilities:

In this role you will guide commercials from concept through to full scale launch, covering:

Work with other business units to compile cost stacks, understanding changes in customer dynamics to ensure the right prioritisation of investment is undertaken

Appraisal of new product investment ideas and establishing suitable baselines to track success

Delivering expert insight and modelling solutions that support the optimisation of Profit, Long Term Value and Customer numbers

Key Skills and requirements:

SAS, VBA Coding and strong Excel skills

Commercial project management background

Strong understanding of financial decision models
