The Insight & Reporting Analyst role is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to join Tesco Mobile. You’ll grow and develop as an analyst, building reports to answer a wide variety of complex business questions, using our incredibly rich customer data and a range of the latest technologies.

The Insight & Analytics team functions across the entire business, from marketing to finance, operations and customer care, so no two days are ever the same. Whatever you are working on, you will be able to have a direct impact on the business by providing the data and insight that helps us serve our customers a little better every day.

The Role

-You will use the wealth of data that we hold on our customers to provide actionable analysis, dashboards and reporting to your designated business areas within Tesco Mobile.

-You will own the production, maintenance and accuracy of existing reports, and will create new reports, dashboards or analysis as required. You’ll be continually looking to ensure data quality and to automate processes wherever possible.

-You will build strong relationships with your business partners and help them understand how to extract the most value from their data.

Candidate profile

Essential

-Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Ideally a numerate degree, a technical background and previous experience of working on a customer analytics team.

-Very strong SQL coding skills (T-SQL and Teradata).

-Advanced Excel knowledge (e.g. VBA, automation, PowerPivot, DAX).

-Expert at designing and building effective, automated/self-service reports and dashboards to answer complex business questions. QlikView dashboard development experience preferred.

-Experience of manipulating large quantities of high-dimensional data, and navigating through unfamiliar (and sometimes messy) data sources. Ability to extract and clean data from a variety of sources and ensure high levels of data quality.

-Ability to communicate clearly and confidently using appropriate methods of delivery.

-A willingness and ability to pick up new tools and techniques quickly is essential.

-Ability to quickly gain knowledge of Tesco Mobile and understand the business. Previous experience of the telecoms industry would be an advantage.

-Ability to mentor junior members of the team.

Desirable

-This role offers the opportunity to work with a variety of technologies, so any significant experience with Teradata, Hadoop, Tableau, R, Python, or other BI tools would be preferred.

-Experience of tuning SQL queries would be preferred.

-Experience of building SSAS cubes would be preferred.

-Experience of managing a small team of analysts or developers would be preferred.

-Telecoms industry experience would be preferred.
