You won’t just oversee small schemes.
You’ll lead crucial, transformative projects.
The challenge
A fast-evolving public corporation, the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) is committed to shaping the future of regulation in the UK nuclear industry. We’re making some innovative and wide-reaching changes to the very ways in which we work, and we need future-facing individuals to help us achieve our visions.
The role
In this role, you’ll join a new department that’s at the front-line of the business - delivering IT initiatives that’ll shape the future success of ONR. You’ll actively run these transformative projects with your team so you meet objectives, targets and cost constraints. But you’ll also commit yourself to instilling confidence in key stakeholders - winning their full support as you lead innovative change.
Thanks to your collaborative ethos, you’ll work with your colleagues to understand technical requirements. It’s about understanding exactly what needs to be done, translating this across the business and delivering it.
The person
With a strong project management background, you’ll have an understanding of the different management approaches and be able to deliver outcomes at pace. You’ll also need a recognised PPM qualification and to be confident when writing key project documentation.
But above all, you’ll need to be driven, determined and resilient. You’ll enjoy moving around the business to co-ordinate projects - always working to achieve the best possible outcomes. Flexible and adaptable, you’ll think on your feet and thrive under pressure. With excellent communication skills, this confidence will be passed on to stakeholders and you’ll foster meaningful working relationships.
The rewards
We offer competitive salaries at the ONR, with this role attracting a salary of £49,946 - £57,199. Furthermore, you’ll be eligible for an incredibly substantial Civil Service Pension scheme (including ill-health retirement and lump sum family benefits). Plus, you’ll receive a very generous holiday entitlement.
About us
ONR is a Public Corporation with a mission to ensure the highest standards of safety and security across all of the UK’s licensed nuclear sites. Our staff are drawn from a wide range of professional backgrounds in order to run a stand-alone business. There are specialist inspectors working in core functions including: civil engineering, radiological protection, human factors, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering and nuclear physics. And, together, they’re involved in everything from assessing safety cases, inspecting nuclear sites and communicating our decisions, to training new recruits and representing the UK and ONR within the wider, international nuclear community.
