It’s about expert analysis skills.

And delivering innovative projects.

The challenge

A fast-evolving public corporation, the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) is committed to shaping the future of regulation in the UK nuclear industry. We’re making some innovative and wide-reaching changes to the very ways in which we work, and we need future-facing individuals to help us achieve our visions.

The role

As our Business Analyst, you’ll work across the business to identify where we can make the biggest improvements to our IT. You’ll lead on the planning and management of analysis, ensuring that we meet time and cost efficiencies. Much of the role will see you assessing requirements against the present state of IT, and the target state.

It’s all about working collaboratively across the business to understand what projects are being delivered. By interacting with everyone from stakeholders through to nuclear inspectors, you’ll find out exactly what we need to deliver the projects. As part of this, you’ll translate technical jargon to your colleagues, create project plans and map activities.

The person

To join us, you’ll need a background of business analysis and experience within a project delivery environment. With this, you’ll ensure that business solutions are developed in accordance with recognised methodologies. You’ll also ideally be working towards a BSC Diploma in Business Analysis.

With outstanding interpersonal skills, you’ll confidently communicate with people at all different levels. And thanks to your excellent written skills, you’ll articulate information methodically and accurately - even when working to deadlines. Naturally forward thinking and self-motivated, you’ll learn quickly. But above all, you’ll be flexible, patient and resilient - and passionate about providing the best solutions.

The rewards

We offer competitive salaries at the ONR, with this role attracting a salary of £36,745 - £43,999. Furthermore, you’ll be eligible for an incredibly substantial Civil Service Pension scheme (including ill-health retirement and lump sum family benefits). Plus, you’ll receive a very generous holiday entitlement.

About us

ONR is a Public Corporation with a mission to ensure the highest standards of safety and security across all of the UK’s licensed nuclear sites. Our staff are drawn from a wide range of professional backgrounds in order to run a stand-alone business. There are specialist inspectors working in core functions including: civil engineering, radiological protection, human factors, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering and nuclear physics. And, together, they’re involved in everything from assessing safety cases, inspecting nuclear sites and communicating our decisions, to training new recruits and representing the UK and ONR within the wider, international nuclear community.
