DIO is part of the Ministry of Defence (MOD). DIO’s Data, Analytics and Insight (DA&I) department are currently looking for a Senior Analytics Manager to join the Modelling and Analytics Team, which leads on the delivery and oversight of bespoke analytical projects for customers in DIO.

The overarching objective of this role is to support evidence-based decision making in DIO and promote statistical standards. This may include;

- Deliver bespoke analytical projects; investigating DIO’s data with advanced statistical techniques to answer customer questions.

- Support the creation and dissemination of advanced analytics and statistics in DIO.

- Oversee the creation and development of National Statistics.

- Develop DIO’s advanced analytics and data science capability.

- Build links with Defence Statistics, the Government Statistics Service and contribute to the MOD Data Science Action Plan.

As a member of DA&I’s Modelling and Analytics Team there will be many opportunities to be involved in a wider spectrum of analytical projects.

The role will include management of one direct report; however there will be many additional opportunities to engage in management and leadership activities.

Membership of the Governments Social Research Service (GSR), Statistical Service (GSS), Operational Research Service (GORS) or other analytical professions will be supported.
