Join the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and have a future that matters: Be proud; Be challenged; Be unique.

DIO is part of the Ministry of Defence (MOD). We play a vital role in supporting Defence by leading and managing the delivery of what the Armed Forces need to live, work, train and deploy on operations. Our people share the common goal of supporting our Armed Forces through management of the military estate.

DIO’s Data, Analytics and Insight (DA&I) department are currently looking for a Senior Research Manager to provide strategic advice and recommendations to senior stakeholders. The post holder needs to be able to comprehend business strategy but is then able to translate this into how research can be used effectively to achieve deliverables, both in terms of the research itself but also its impact. This requires some measure of strategic insight but more importantly the ability to link strategy to delivery, and interpret what is required in terms of research.

The role interacts with both senior business leads and the other key functions to develop and promote the way in which research is managed, and provides a focal point to advise and coach others across the organisation. It is, therefore, essential that the post holder is able to adapt their style to suit the audience, but be firm about the principles and approach that should be adopted to ensure standards are maintained and funding dedicated to research activity is well spent.
