As our Senior Infrastructure Architect you'll use your positive attitude and your extensive knowledge of IT solutions to deliver highly available cost effective IT systems and services.

It's a job full of possibilities as you could get involved in anything from designing new IT solutions for the RCN, to troubleshooting and resolving issues with key IT systems. We'll look to you to recommend and deliver technical solutions to complex environments across all our business areas and act as our overall design authority for the RCN's infrastructure. It's a great way to build your knowledge of our work, and keep abreast of the latest IT developments. This will include attending relevant external training courses, seminars and networking to ensure up-to-date knowledge. Through continuous professional development we will really help you to develop your potential.

You'll use your enthusiasm, your positivity and your customer service skills to deliver an exceptional service to our staff, your customers and ultimately our members.

In this varied role every day will be filled with possibilities. It's a great way to build on your skills and experience and develop your potential.

This is a key position in a small IT department with the role having in-depth knowledge across many areas, from server architecture, Microsoft domain services, backups, virtualisation, cloud services, containerisation and VoIP.

We expect you to look after your customers and we expect you to be rewarded for it. As well as a whole range of learning and development opportunities, we can also offer you an impressive range of benefits. We have a highly competitive pay structure, as well as flexible working and annual leave of up to 32 days.

As well as exceptional customer service, to join us you'll need an in-depth knowledge of designing and implementing key infrastructure technologies capable of robustly supporting the whole organisation.

To join us you'll need to translate the scope and requirements of a project into a workable design, ensuring new services are successfully handed across to the business and are supported by failover plans and full system documentation

You will have a high level of technical knowledge and skill in areas such as VMWare, backup technologies and the latest Microsoft Server technologies, design and administration, application deployment and also in the production of industry standard documentation and reporting.

You will be required to Monitor industry developments and trends and share this knowledge through workshops for your IT colleagues as part of the introduction of new services or changes within the infrastructure. Whatever your background, you'll be efficient, accurate and show a real customer focus in all you do.

To succeed at the Royal College of Nursing all you need to do is think bigger, better and brighter. And with an attitude like that, anything is possible.
