Role overview
At First Utility we believe knowledge is power and to surface powerful knowledge from our Data assets we need a strong supporting Data Quality and Governance program. The work you will do will support this aim through the development and maintenance of key Data Quality initiatives including Data Quality Monitors, Quality Frameworks, Communities (Data Owners/Stewards) and Asset/Product grading and curation. You will be a Data advocate, effectively communicating with key stakeholders and promoting Data Standards and Data Management best practices. You will utilise traditional and big data tools to support these initiatives.
Areas of specific responsibility
- Lead the Data Quality and Governance program, advocating the initiative within the organisation
- Effectively communicate complex business critical information in terms of Data Quality and Management
- Develop a scalable, resilient and transferable Data Quality Monitoring solution.
- Develop a scalable, resilient and transferable Data Quality Framework.
- Promote Data Standards and Data Management Best Practices.
The desirable candidate will have
ESSENTIAL
- Demonstrable expertise in Data Quality and Governance methodologies, strategies and technologies.
- Expertise in the SQL BI Stack (2008 R2 & 2012,SSMS,SSRS,SSIS,SSAS).
- Expertise in data modelling techniques and methodologies.
- An excellent communicator (written and oral).
- Leadership and advocacy skills across all levels of the organisation up to C-Level.
DESIRABLE
- Significant experience in Data Quality/Governance roles, the majority in a leadership capacity.
- Experience in leveraging multiple Data Sources (JSON, GeoJSON, Shapefiles, AJAX, SQL Server, HDFS/HIVE/Big Data, CLOB, Text Files, External Data e.g. PAF).
- Experience leveraging Big Data assets on associated platforms (HIVE, HDFS, Spark, Cloudera Enterprise).
- Relevant certification and qualifications e.g. DAMA certification.
- Experience in Informatica development.
- Experience in GIT/source control processes and technologies.
- Relevant certification and qualifications e.g. DAMA certification.
- Ideally a Master’s Degree or equivalent.
- Experience in the Energy Supplier Industry.
