An exciting and challenging opportunity exists for an experienced Head of Analysis to join our new Strategic Change and Performance Directorate within Essex Police. It requires an innovative thinker who can provide insight and meaning from multiple qualitative and quantitative information sources.

As a professional Analyst within Essex Police you will hold an analytical or numerically based degree level qualification, with significant experience over 5+ years working as a professional analyst. Experienced in the use or application of a wide range of analytical techniques, you will be adept at finding new approaches that inform the allocation of resources and initiatives and drive improvement.

You will have demonstrable experience of how you have made a difference in previous roles you have held, including improving organisational performance and changes in policy and practice that have been as a direct result of your work.

The seniority of this role means that you will often be working with chief officers, the Office of Police and Crime Commissioner and other stakeholders. Your confidence and credibility will stand you in good stead as will your well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to communicate often complex findings to a range of audiences in an easily understandable way.

You will be responsible for managing a team of analysts who provide analytical support and advice throughout the organisation and to a variety of stakeholders. Your leadership of this team will be crucial and you have previous experience of managing teams that play a critical role in an organisation.

This role is not for the faint hearted. The successful candidate will have vision and energy, be highly motivated and genuinely want to be part of an organisation that aspires to be outstanding. Access to a vehicle will be required, as from time to time, travel for business purposes will be required.
