The role

We’ve got an opportunity for you to join our world-class team and enjoy a varied and challenging role. Contributing to all stages of the software development lifecycle, you’ll be involved in everything from design and programming to resolving problems or fixing bugs. It’s about integrating highly sensitive systems within tight timeframes, plus liaising with colleagues across the Service.

Not only will you safeguard the nation, you’ll also receive bespoke training to enhance and strengthen your skills. It’s a chance to take your skills to a new level in languages like Java, JavaScript, .Net, C#, C++, Perl, Python, Red hat Certified Systems and Hadoop frameworks. You’ll also have the chance to build your expertise in areas such as database application design.

About you

With sound understanding and experience of at least one of the programming languages listed above, as well as Agile development methodologies, you’ll be a strong communicator. Experienced as an IT professional in a development or non-development environment, you’ll be a natural problem-solver, thrive under pressure and enjoy keeping up with emerging technologies. As a forward-thinking individual, you’ll have added to your technical skills through a degree or vocational courses.
