We are looking to hire a Graduate/Junior Java/J2EE Developer. This is a brilliant opportunity for a technically sound individual to enhance their career in a role with truly good prospects and excellent benefits.

The successful candidate will be a competent Java/J2EE Developer and ideally will have worked in all phases of the project life-cycle. We are looking for a positive, flexible and hands-on coder who is passionate about writing quality code and emerging technologies. You will be part of a very high calibre team consisting of tech, product, and DevOps working in short iterations, building production ready software.

Responsibilities

-Work as part of an agile team to contribute to product features from inception to delivery and beyond

-Investigation of issues and provisioning of fixes as required

-Collaborate to help design systems including creation of RESTful APIs

-Develop in a TDD environment and use it routinely in your daily coding

-Write high quality, maintainable code

-Support the software your team build including taking part in deployment and monitoring

-Learn new technologies as required

-Integrating services into AWS and using automating scripting languages

-Proactively strive for continual improvement of processes and tools

Job Qualifications

Essential Skills

-1 years' experience using Java/J2EE based technologies

-Sound knowledge of object-oriented development

-Working knowledge of Spring

-Web frameworks, JPA, SQL knowledge

-Web development experience (JavaScript, HTML, CSS and/or Angular is a bonus)

-Experience with source control ideally Git and GitHub

Desirable Skills

-Amazon Web Services

-TDD

-Experience Hibernate/JPA

-Use of IntelliJ or Eclipse

-Ability to design RESTful APIs

-Exposure to working in an agile (scrum) environment

Required Education and/or Experience

-A Computer Science degree or related technical field or equivalent practical experience

-Strong Java programming ability - ability to write high quality and maintainable code

-A Good understanding of algorithms, software architecture and design

-An Ability to collaborate within an Agile team and communicate effectively

-Good problem solving and analysis skills
