Lengo is re-inventing job advertising by creating a digital headhunting platform that uses Machine Learning to create cutting-edge integrations into Social / Programmatic Advertising platforms.

We need a product-focussed Lead Developer to make strategic architectural decisions, take our product to the next level, and mentor our two energetic genius developers.

The Ideal Candidate

Skills:

- Architect and steer technical decisions

- Comfortable developing a technology strategy to deliver market leading products, including setting best practice

- Product-focused innovator comfortable working with the business (product owners, business analysts and project managers) with good empathy towards non-technical colleagues.

- We are full-stack developers and have a full-time UI/UX designer, while your focus will be primarily back-end you should have an appreciation of UI.

- Experience in leading a team of Software Developers, ideally using Python. (other platforms also considered)

- Background in LEAN/Kanban preferable

- Evaluate return on investment for code solutions

- Team leadership and line management

Technology:

We believe in using the right tool for the right job, and are not limiting ourselves to any particular language. Preference will be given to those that have strong language experience in one of the below:

- Python

- Java

- Scala / Haskall / Clojure

- NodeJS

Our Stack:

- Database / RDBMS experience e.g. MySQL, Mongo, Postgres, SQL, Data Warehousing, ETL, SOLR/Elastic Search

- Flask

- Javascript / AngularJS

- Git

- Linux / Bash / AWS

Qualifications:

- Strong communicator able to work directly with business people

- Ability to capture requirements and prioritise work around emergent customer needs (startup style)

- Fluent in English, written and spoken?

- Independent / proactive attitude / problem solver

- Previous experience with marketing campaigns and/or multi-channel marketing a bonus

Working Environment/Physical Activities

The team has built a new product (Lengo) in a Lean Start-up environment within a large listed technology company (NYSE:DHX) that is growing into a commercial success.

We have a casual office environment with ping-pong table, video games, free fresh coffee and a dining area for downtime. Travel will rarely be required, but requires the ability to transport a laptop and peripherals and handheld device.
