Telecoms Engineer

Field Based - Telecoms Engineer

Experience: Ideally Samsung or Unify (Siemens Hipath 3000 / Openscape Office - OpenScape Business systems)

or other PBX systems (LG, IP Office, Mitel, Panasonic etc).

Location: Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire or Berkshire area's

Excellent Salary & package (negotiable depending on experience)

Our client is a £multi-million, market leading and fast moving Telecoms industry success story. They are dynamic, growing and they specialise in Installation and Maintenance support, Voice services, Data services and Telecommunications equipment solutions for a wide variety of Telecommunications and VOIP systems from many world leading Telecoms manufacturers including Samsung and Unify. Due to continued growth and expansion they are in the need for a dynamic team player as a Telecoms Field Engineer.

The company are looking for candidates with a solid (PBX / VoIP) telecoms background, the candidate must be self-motivated, keen to learn and show proven experience from world leading manufacturers of business phone PBX Systems and VOIP systems.

Role and Responsibilities:

This role is for a Telecoms Field Engineer to install, maintain and support business phone PBX Systems and VOIP systems for both their existing and new customer base. You will be primarily field based and be travelling mainly in the south area however, they do support and install systems across the whole of the UK.

Job Role

- Understanding of Telecommunications Systems, specifically Samsung systems, Samsung Wireless enterprise, Unify and Hosted Telephony.

- Attend site to rectify maintenance issue

- To provide telephone /remote assistance in resolving cases

- To take part in pre-configuration projects

- Provide advanced technical insight to the Support Desk

- To regularly update case tracking information

- To update paper work on projects and customer documentation

Job Requirements

- Have experience in the following technologies; Samsung Syatems, Unify, Hosted Telephony and Wi-Fi (Desirable)

- Wifi Knowledge (Desirable)

- Experience in SIP Wi-Fi handsets (Desirable)

- Superb communication & Telecoms skills (Essential)

- Organised and Self-Motivated (Essential)

- Understand the importance of being part of a Team (Essential)

- Have a solid understanding of how networks operate including experience in IPv4, routing and subnets. (Essential)

- Qualifications, Data Networking experience (Desirable)

- Previous experience in working in field based role. (Essential)
