Microsoft Front Office Developer / London / 6 Months Contract / Up To 650 GBP Per Day

ROLE SUMMARY

The Portfolio Management Operations department was created in early 2016 to improve the overall operating environment across the investment process. The department works with the investment teams as well as Operations, Finance, Risk as well as the Data Management Office to identify operational in-efficiencies and to streamline workflows. The department also develops cross desk solutions to issues such as new regulatory directives or to provide market data access. PMO has representatives on companywide boards including Institutional Business Design Authority and The Investment Technology Authority to help shape the roadmap for London as well as the global offices.

PMO are looking for a Front Office Developer to assist the existing team to design, build & support a number of tactical solutions across the investment process. Furthermore the team are currently in the initiation phase of a larger strategic solution which all team members will be involved in over time.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

The PMO development team deliver scalable and robust tools and models and manage the data sets required to run them. The role will require the integration of existing tools and models as well as enhancing / extending the existing infrastructure, which includes:

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED

Essential

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Experience of Microsoft Office development (Excel/ VBA / Access)

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     A good understanding of the software development lifecycle

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Experience of GUI, object-oriented development within an asset management firm or similar organisation.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Experience working in a Front-Office environment.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Genuine enthusiasm for investments and financial markets.

Desirable

The PMO development teams have recently adopted C# amongst a new technology stack in order to build an enterprise strategic portfolio management system. The team has started to build Microsoft Office based solutions using C# (Excel DNA) instead of VBA. Therefore:
