We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager - Health & Safety Improvement to be based at our Bedford, Birmingham or Guildford offices.

You will develop solutions and interventions, and working with stakeholders, to deliver actions from within our Health & Safety 5 year plan.

Provide a work stream lead role by supporting a directorate with the actions and acting with overview of their deliverables and identify constraints affecting programme development and delivery, and negotiate and agree mitigating actions. Managing the processes around reporting on progress and risk associated with those actions.

Ensuring actions are delivered on time, to standard and have competent health and safety input throughout their development.

Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, key stakeholders and other organisations to benchmark share and adopt best practice.

Communicating widely and influencing internal and external audiences to ensure the plan and our ambition on improving safety are the number one focus for the company, its suppliers, and customers.

Managing outsourced delivery of actions and ensuring effective management of financial and human resource associated with tasks, as well as quality of product/s delivered.

Key Responsibilities:

-Managing discrete projects and/or work streams, from the 5 Year Health & Safety Plan as agreed with the programme lead.

-Reporting on progress and managing finance, resourcing and risk associated with projects and work streams.

-Developing health & safety management procedures and guidance to ensure best practice by stakeholders.

-Promoting the plan and development of safety within the company, through communications and engagement.

-Building effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, influencing and delivering across boundaries within the company, so as to assure delivery of the plan.

Skills and Experience:

-Membership and appropriate qualification, relating to project or programme management, i.e. APM, PRINCE2, MSP. Excellence in programme and project delivery discipline.

-Working collaboratively with wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

-Leading cultural improvements in safety through the implementation of best practice initiatives.

-Promoting improvements to safety and driving communication.
