THE ROLE
The Data Analyst will be responsible for the analysis, reporting and management of all aspects of Business data in accordance with NOCN’s business objectives and aims. They will support NOCN with reporting, audits, performance monitoring, statistical analysis, IT Strategy and implementing improvements within NOCN’s systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Management
-To perform data checking and validation within the reporting tool and to use information from this process to inform data integrity within NOCN’s databases; including test scripts and user testing sign-off.
-To integrate and improve NOCN’s internal MIS systems
-To drive more effective reporting through the improvement of data
-To contribute to future developments of the IT strategy and Plan
-To undertake the management of the data in-house including a Hub and Spoke system
-Identification of bugs and issues and resolution of these with relevant supplier
Reporting
-To develop and maintain a range of standard and specialist reports for NOCN Board, management and staff teams.
-To develop and maintain a range of reports connected to our Assurance, Operations, Product Management and Financial processes as an Awarding Organisation in liaison with the relevant teams
-To provide statistical information to project groups to inform qualification development and NOCN’s operations as required
-To be responsible for the timely production and submission of statistical reports for regulatory bodies and Government.
Operations
-To support the business with audit requests
-To support the development and delivery of a range of workshops and support materials for end users to further develop skills and expertise in the use of reporting tools where applicable
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
General
-Actively promote a culture of dignity and respect in the workplace
Essential
-Level 3 Database systems qualification or equivalent experience
-Advanced use of Microsoft Excel; advanced formulas, VBA
-Technical experience of Report Builder/Business Object or an equivalent reporting tool
-Clear understanding of the principles of relational database design and reporting
-Experience of improving organisation efficiency through effective use of MIS
Desirable
-Level 4 Database Systems or Data Management qualification
-Understanding of post-16 education.
-Knowledge of awarding bodies and regulatory structures
-Delivery of training and coaching
Additional
-Occasionally required to attend meetings or events throughout the UK
