Professional & Technical Solutions (PTS) is responsible for supporting the strategic planning and delivery of Highways England services on the strategic road network PTS includes the technical services, health & safety, sustainability and diversity agendas for the company whilst also providing internal and external communications expertise. Key priorities include supporting world class operational delivery through technical advice, ensuring compliance with European Union regulations, driving improved safety and implementing continuous improvement techniques and processes.

Job Description

Highways England is currently recruiting for a Roadside Facilities Project Coordinator to be based in Manchester.

You will be part of the Roadside Facilities team that leads nationally on key aspects of roadside rest facilities.

They are responsible for projects, compliance, signing advice, policies and policy developments that improve and maintain customer service and standards in line with our customer service strategy.

You will be part of a team delivering improvements both internally and externally that will support changes to policy or legislation and ultimately have a positive impact on customer experience in support delivery of the second imperative and the User Satisfaction KPI.

Responsibilities

- Support the team in giving practical advice to support consistency of approach in relation to roadside rest facilities, policy, processes and procedures produced by DfT, Developers, OGDs and Planning stakeholders in accordance with current legislation and regulation.

- Assist with written communications to customers and stakeholders, on roadside facilities matters to include customer service, planning, commercial interests, and Government led initiatives.

- Support team members in enabling company reputation/s to be maintained and improved and new relationships to be built in order to enable new entrants to the market to do business with us.

- Provide timely and informative reporting against performance objectives highlighting risks and issues to inform effective decision making.

- Support the team to work collaboratively across organisational boundaries, ensuring effective liaison between areas of operation to deliver against corporate and directorate objectives.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications

- Experience of supporting projects/ work-streams that contribute to a larger programme of work.

- Experience of managing or supporting business change.

- Experience of working with stakeholder relationships that are broad ranging and may conflict.

- Experience in the fields legislation, hospitality and tourism.

- Experience of supporting delivery through others.

- Qualification or relevant experience in project management.
