In a nutshell

As a member of the digital analytics team, you'll help lead on defining how we implement web analytics across Sainsbury's digital estate to gather accurate and actionable data. The role will own the ongoing optimisation of web analytics infrastructure so as to continually enhance user experience across and between Sainsbury's websites. This is a great opportunity to further develop your digital analytics career in a fast growing multi-channel retail environment.

What I need to do

Develop and implement the technical requirements for analytics tagging and tracking infrastructure

Manage Adobe Analytics implementation

Understand product owners' needs to translate business requirements into analytics technical requirements

Work closely with the development team to prioritise analytics requirements for development sprints

Work with the Optimisation Manager to implement tagging and tracking required for A/B testing measurement

Assist QA teams with test plan development and users with troubleshooting

Follow data collection standardisation and governance processes

Explain data collection methodologies to the internal data users

How I will succeed

Continually optimise analytics tagging and tracking infrastructure

Ensure data and data collection methods are robust, timely, and fit for purpose

Ensure analytics increasingly empowers customers

Optimise the analytics test plan processes and governance with developers

Show evidence of the gains from data collection standardisation and governance

Advocate digital analytics best practices

Contribute to the overall analytics vision and roadmap

Support line manager and team in delivering the analytics vision and roadmap

What I need to know

Adobe Analytics setup principles and e-commerce tracking best practices

Best practice in digital analytics for all platforms: web, native apps and single page applications

How to design, implement and debug web analytics solutions within a container tag solution

Experience with tag management systems (ideally Signal or Tealium)

Experience with enterprise analytics systems (e.g. Adobe SiteCatalyst)

Understanding and experience with digital data layers

It would also be beneficial if you have previously experience working with JavaScript, although this is not necessary
