Deliver key projects that support a vital police service

The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is an armed police service that’s dedicated to the nuclear industry. Our vision is to be recognised as a provider of a world-class service for the protection of nuclear material and facilities. Given the critical nature of our work, it’s vital that we recruit skilled and committed professionals to our high-performing team. As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll support our workforce by advancing our People Programme.

Your main task will be to deliver key projects which are part of a wider change programme. Initiatives include updating terms and conditions of service for CNC officers. It’s a good opportunity to tackle end-to end project management: you’ll perform high-level planning, spot interdependencies, suggest opportunities and manage risks and budgets. You’ll also co-ordinate project teams and take responsibility for project governance. As a senior figure, you’ll be the main point of contact, guiding Business Change Managers and reporting back to stakeholders.

An accredited project manager (e.g. PRINCE 2 Practitioner) with significant experience, you’ll be a skilled professional and a capable leader. Your expertise will need to cover the full project lifecycle as well as methodologies. You will be up-to-speed on everything from change control and budget management to the identification of benefits. Your knowledge and communication skills mean you’re credible and articulate - able to present and influence at an executive level. You’ll be equally adept at handling stakeholder relations and using coaching techniques to get the best from teams.
