Solution Architect - Enterprise Microsoft solutions
London City

Our client is a Leading global provider of Hybrid IT solutions to a client base of large Enterprise Clients.

This role is a dedicated onsite Solution Architect resource to define, scope, architect and deliver bespoke application solutions for a leading Global Law firm. This role will suit someone with 5 years experience of Solutions Architecture (HLD and LLD), in a similar large global enterprise environment (c5000 users, and 3000 servers globally). You must be able to talk at both commercial and technical level depending upon your audience.

The role will be responsible for the following tasks during the lifecycle of a client project:

ØInput to the RFP/RFI document form initial client meeting at C-level
ØScoring of RFP/RFI responses
ØAttend vendor demos onsite or offsite
ØAttend reference site visits and meetings - responsible for the technical elements of the proposed solution
ØTechnical liaison throughout the project with internal and external resources
ØReview vendor documentation to ensure compliance with A&O standards
ØResponsible for the infrastructure and solution design
ØCreate or assist the project manager with the creation of project plans (MS Project)
ØCreate or assist the project manager with the creation of resourcing plans
ØReview existing infrastructure for suitability of co-hosting rather than purchase new hardware
ØProvide technical assistance to the PM and BA throughout the project
ØHostattendpresent at Technical Assurance Group meetings
ØAttend dailyweekly project meetings
ØDraft the Technical Design Document and manage this through the Architecture Review Board process
ØDocument and represent any new standards to the relevant board or authority for sign off
ØDefine data integrations within the project scope
ØComplete build forms for any servers to be deployed, assist others in the department
ØUndertake the solution build through Dev, CTE and Production environments
ØDocument the solution build process
ØAssist SQS with the configuration of CTE in preparation for performance testing
ØFacilitate the requirements to allow end user functionality testing
ØInterpret performance test results and troubleshoot where required
ØLiaise with the vendor for any issues, troubleshoot and apply hotfixes patches if required
ØAssist the PM with the change management process
ØComplete service handover documentation
ØProvide support during the warranty period, normally 1 month, following go-live
ØUndertake training and knowledge transfer for the Belfast Service Management team(s)

Technical Skills
§Microsoft Windows Server 2003+ - Familiarity with the operating system, features and in-built functions
§Microsoft HA SQL server 2005+ - Database creation, security, backup strategies and high availability features, basic SQL queries
§Microsoft IIS 6+ - Site creation, virtual directories, security, certificates, application pools, ability to read code, host headers, log files
§VMWare ESX 5.1 - Navigate the Virtual Centre console, understand networking, storage etc - admin level. Understand latest features of VMWare 6.
§Microsoft Active Directory
§Understand the following concepts:
·Sites and replication topology
·Organisational Units
·Domain security and group nesting
·Group Policy
·LDAP
§Name Resolution - Understand DNS and WINS, how name resolution works in a DMZ without DNS. Although not a name resolution technology also includes DHCP
§Microsoft SharePoint 2007+ - Application creation, security, Sites and subsites, create libraries and basic sites, backup strategies, resilience and fault tolerance, webpart and application deployment across farms, logging and troubleshooting
§Microsoft Exchange 2010 - Understanding of integration with Exchange mainly SMTP
§IP networks - Understand routed networks, WAN implications, IP addressing, subnetting, VLAN's, IP version 4, static routes, DMZ implications, protocol ports
§Microsoft Cluster - Configuration, resource creation, dependencies, availability groups
§Load Balancing - Configure Network Load Balancing. How to load balance a solution, session persistence, session distribution options
§Scripting - VBScript and Powershell
§General - Integrating the above software and being able to understand the end to end processing within a solution. Working with third party software such as scanning, autonomy etc.

The role will be based 5 days per week in the City, close to Liverpool Street station.
