PHP / SQL Programmer (Junior) - Learning and Development

An exciting opportunity to join an established sales and service performance improvement organisation, with an impressive portfolio of international blue chip clients. You will be a key contributor to a recently launched SaaS platform, enabling clients to roll out performance improvement programmes that really make a difference throughout the workforce. The platform is already being used to help 30,000 users and is expected to reach 100,000 within the next few months.

You will have a key role in our small digital strategy team, and be part of a fun, friendly, dynamic organisation. We’d like you to bring 1-2 years’ relevant experience, a "can-do" attitude and a confident and flexible approach to challenges, to our business.

Responsibilities include:

- Working with the scrum master and product owner to design and build software enhancements to our new SaaS performance improvement platform

- Writing user stories and UAT scripts

- Testing new enhancements

- Chasing down and fixing defects

- Client liaison on technical issues

- Design and build of learning games using Game Maker

- Design and development of e-learning modules using Elucidat and other rapid authoring tools

- Design and build of programmes using our On.Board platform

Required skills:

- PHP with experience of an MVC framework

- MS SQL

- JavaScript - Vanilla / jQuery

- CSS / SASS - Responsive, mobile-first development

- Experience of API-driven development

Desirable skills:

- SCRUM or other agile techniques

- Game Maker and GML

- Gulp / other build tools

- Yii PHP framework

- Git for versioning

- Experience with SCORM and learning management systems

Free parking, private healthcare and pension package. The role is full time, a freelance arrangement will be considered but on-site working preferred.
