Interested in a career in IT? Want to use your customer service skills and IT knowledge in a different way? We might just have the perfect job for you.

Wessex Water is the top performing water and sewerage company in the UK, serving 2.8 million customers across the south west of England. It is part of the Wessex Water Group, which comprises a number of other companies, alongside our regulated business, including engineering and construction, property development and waste management and renewable energy services.

Our Information Services department provides an end-to-end service to a wide range of internal customers, encompassing IT development, delivery and support. We are a key element in the successful growth and expansion of the Wessex Water Group, across both our regulated and unregulated businesses.

At the heart of what we do is customer service and as a service desk engineer, you'd be on the frontline, dealing with customers and offering solutions to their IT problems. Our team of seven provide first and second line support, rotating between incident and request work. This way, we make sure we are all multi-skilled and life is never boring! We run early and late shifts Monday to Friday, covering working hours of 7.30am to 5.15pm.

We don't need you to have IT qualifications or even technical work experience to do this job. What you must have is a very strong customer service focus and the ability to work well under pressure, juggling a number of tasks effectively. Of course, you will need some IT knowledge to supplement the information provided in our knowledge base and the support your colleagues will give you. Ideally you should know Windows 10 and be able to support our smartphone users as well as the usual Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and Office 365. Because our IS department covers the whole lifecycle, we can also offer excellent career progression opportunities and in fact, several of our team have moved on to other IT roles after a successful role on the service desk.

In return we offer a range of benefits including:

* Defined contribution pension scheme.

* 24 days' holiday rising to 28 with length of service.

* Childcare vouchers.

* Cycle2Work scheme.

* Discounts and cashback scheme from more than 1,200 high street and online suppliers.

To apply for this role please click the APPLY button. Closing Date: 5th April 2017.

Please remember you must be able to prove your eligibility to work in the UK and provide evidence of qualifications gained. All offers of employment will be subject to a Basic Disclosure Criminal Records check.
