The Opportunity
Save the Children are currently looking for experienced Project Managers and Senior Project Managers to be based in our central London office, on a permanent/ongoing basis, or on 1-2 year fixed term contracts.
In these roles, you will manage key projects within a portfolio of programmes aligned to our global strategy. These projects include organisational change initiatives, finance and supply chain systems and infrastructure activities. Many of the projects have technology components and dependant on platform may have significant software development. Most projects require international rollout.
Your responsibilities will include:
-Leading the project management of strategic projects working within a Waterfall / Agile methodology to deliver agreed benefits
-Partnering with senior level stakeholders and influence project definition and scope, to ensure translation into a viable project.
-Ensuring that projects are aligned with strategic goals and are supported by sound business cases
-Proactively identifying and managing project risks; and monitor and drive the resolution of issues
In order to be successful you will have:
-An extensive track record of successfully managing large and complex change projects and programmes in a multinational environment. Experience in financial IT systems (particularly Agresso), Supply Chain, Child Protection or organisation design is highly beneficial.
-Demonstrable experience and in-depth knowledge of programme and project priorities and standards (SCRUM, and others like Prince2 etc.)
-Demonstrable skills in managing and reporting complex projects within a Portfolio office / PMO structure
-Comprehensive management and influencing skills with experience of working with senior level executives
-A technical understanding of IT infrastructure and technology development / deployment preferably in web/cloud based solution
-Experience of project managing the deployment of financial, HR, CRM and/or supply chain systems is desirable
-On a personal level you will also have a strong results orientation, excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, a high degree of cultural awareness and a collaborative approach.
