Information Services provide a broad spectrum of ICT services to Cornwall Council helping them to deliver services as efficiently and effectively as possible. The recent approval of an £18 million+ investment plan will result in a programme of innovative and exciting projects such as, Business Intelligence and Analytics, Internet of Things and leveraging the Azure technology stack. The Software Development Team will play an important role in this delivering line of business applications, utilities, integrations and online services.
There are three positions available. Reporting to the Software Development Manager your primary role will be to develop an understanding of the business needs of Cornwall Council then design, develop and deliver software based solutions to meet these needs.
Although these are senior roles don’t be put off if you feel you have the skills and potential to gain the experience. We may be able to create entry level roles for the right people - so we still want to hear from you!
This position will be subject to a basic DBS check.

About you
We are looking for someone with significant experience in designing and delivering C# / .NET based solutions for large organisations. You will be a confident communicator, capable of capturing business requirements from our customers and producing / presenting technical solutions to both customers and technical colleagues, and will have experience of leading projects through the full software development lifecycle using effective customer engagement skills.
A good track record of delivering effective solutions using the following technologies is required:
C# / .NET
ASP.Net MVC
Entity Framework / SQL Server
Javascript /HTML5
Domain driven development / OOP
The following would be advantageous but not essential:
Experience of delivering integrations using a service bus based architecture
Designing and documenting secure software architecture patterns
Experience of delivering solutions hosted in Microsoft Azure
git / Continua CI / Octopus Deploy
CSS / Twitter Bootstrap
REST / Web API Web services
