Our information services department provides an end-to-end service to a wide range of internal customers, encompassing IT development, delivery and support. We are a key element in the successful growth and expansion of Wessex Water Group, across both our regulated and unregulated businesses.

The application support team activities provide assistance on a wide range of systems for business users across the organisation, including Telemetry, financial and operational. Our organisation is expanding and diversifying all the time, which means we are busier than ever with fresh challenges.

To add to our team, we're looking for a graduate to develop as a support consultant. Day to day you'll be managing the health and availability of an application, its configuration and support, ensuring its integration with other business solutions and producing queries and reports based on customer requirements. We are a close-knit and supportive team and you'll receive training and development, both on and off the job, to ensure you develop the necessary skills and knowledge. This is an ideal entry point into our IT department, and once you have developed your technical and customer relationship skills the possibilities are endless.

To do all of this you'll need to be a positive team player with a relevant qualification and the drive to develop your technical knowledge further. Ideally you'll have some knowledge of the kind of systems we use such as Telemetry, SCADA or operational control systems - plus an understanding of SQL, Linux operating systems and communications protocol. Most importantly, you will need excellent communication and organisation skills to enable you to balance the needs of a variety of customers in a busy environment. On occasion you may be asked to work shifts within a 24/7 working pattern, and you will receive a 10% salary uplift for this work.
