VP of Graphics Engineering

Our client is a major developer of software and hardware technology within the graphics area and consumer electronics. They pioneer new technology within multimedia that enables mobile, consumer and automotive markets to become more even more sophisticated.

Right now, our client is looking to appoint a VP of Graphics Engineering, to help drive their strategic objectives and corporate vison.

Role

Working closely with the EVP, this is a high profile and brand new role and as such is an opportunity to shape the role itself. It is also an opportunity to introduce your own leadership style to a business of 800 staff, who need empowering and strong leadership if they are to help the business become best in class. You will both guide and influence the way people work and equally have key responsibilities for both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

- Drive best-in-class productivity, engineering processes and design methodology to achieve on-time execution every time

- Guide the future vision, research direction and long-term idea generation and

- Drive modelling methodologies to ensure rapid and effective transfer from idea to implementation

- Ensure the core business strategy and philosophy is fully communicated, supported and adopted by the team and understood throughout the organisation

- Ensure products achieve excellent "system level" performance in customer’s SoC implementations

- Partner with our Talent Acquisition and HRBP teams to retain and hire, develop and inspire the Graphics Engineering organisation

- Build strong partnerships with Product Marketing and build an accurate and insightful knowledge of the competitor landscape

- Work closely with the Project Management Office to define and adhere to the agreed development process

- Ensure internal and external customers are communicated to effectively and understand how to benefit from our technology

- Own the Graphics Engineering budget to ensure that the cost of development is optimised

A confident, energetic and positive leader you nurture your team through world class coaching and mentoring techniques.

You must also have:

- Background in GPU or similar technology

- Run hardware projects with some exposure to software or run software projects with significant exposure to hardware

- Demonstrable product delivery experience and a proven track record of successfully completing complex projects

- High-level understanding of hardware and software verification methodology

- Demonstrable ability to be in front of our customers

- Understanding to modern project management techniques such as Agile

- Track record of excellent people management

- Familiarity with the patent and IP licensing/development processes

- Managed multi-site teams

Desirable skills and experience:

- SoC design for mobile platforms
