Historic Environment Scotland is seeking to recruit a Cloud Services Technician. Based within the IT department of our Corporate Services directorate, this post will have responsibility for the administration, configuration and management of the Office 365 email system for HES and the associated on-premises servers and cloud-based technologies associated with the service.

Overview of the post and information about the team

The main elements of the role will involve Office 365 administration, Exchange Online administration, Microsoft Azure administration, Active Directory (AD) administration, and Microsoft Intune administration (Mobile Device Management).

There will also be significant involvement with helpdesk incidents, service requests, and change requests relating to email and phone use.

The post-holder will have the opportunity and responsibility to identify where service improvements could be implemented within HES in order to increase the efficiency of communication and collaboration.

Key responsibilities, duties and objectives

         •       Day to day administration of the HES Office 365 service

         •       User account management through Active Directory

         •       Resolving technical support issues

         •       Assisting with project work as required

         •       Ensuring that HES users are able to access and use the Office 365 service

         •       Ensuring that authentication services through ADFS are available

         •       Managing email security changes as part of a change management structure

         •       User Account Management using Microsoft Active Directory

         •       Assisting in the administration of Microsoft INTUNE service as part of a team

Knowledge, skills and experience

Essential requirements:

         •       Strong understanding and experience of Microsoft Office 365

         •       Demonstrable experience of working within a user helpdesk

         •       Good working knowledge of Windows Server 2012 and Active Directory Management

         •       Good working knowledge of Microsoft PowerShell.

Desirable requirements:

         •       Experience of working with Microsoft InTune and Microsoft ADFS

         •       Familiarity with ITIL framework

Professional Qualifications & Professional Memberships:

         •       Microsoft MCP is desirable.
